Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy for Pain
Pelvic pain is suffered by millions of people around the world, and yet few people are aware of the great benefits that can be had by pelvic floor physiotherapy. And although the direct cause of your pelvic floor dysfunction that is causing you pain may not be known by your doctor, this does not mean that you cannot potentially find relief from pelvic floor physiotherapy for pain treatment.
Pelvic floor dysfunction in general, comes from either a weak or a tight pelvic floor, so exercise that tightens these muscles is not necessarily a cure for the pain. A pelvic floor specialist such as our own Amy Gildner can properly assess your condition and determine your best course of treatment.
Some examples of potentially treatable pelvic pain include:
- interstitial cystitis
- levator ani syndrome
- pudendal neuralgia
- pain with intercourse
