Amy completed her master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2013 after finishing her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. Since graduating, she has become proficient in her skills with evaluating and assessing patients’ physical abilities through evaluative procedures and functional tests. She also regularly provides individualized and specific programs for patients, based on their personal diagnosis and goals.
Because of a desire to continually learn and develop her talents beyond her basic schooling, Amy has taken courses in acupuncture, Pilates, personal training, and pelvic health to complement her practice. Amy now treats many patients with concerns about pelvic health, including those pre-partum, pre-natal, and post-partum.
Amy has an extremely hands on approach to treatment, preferring manual therapy and exercise prescription over using machines. Her specially designed and specific treatment programs for each patient help to ensure quick recovery that lasts. Amy prefers to look at you as a whole, and to focus on the cause of your impairment or complaint, rather than just the symptoms.
Among other issues, Amy is capable of treating:
- sprains and strains
- joint injury or disability
- difficulty walking
- motor vehicle accident recovery
- plantar fasciitis
- rheumatoid arthritis
- back pain
- neck pain
- joint pain
- athletic injury
- urinary incontinence
