You might be surprised to hear this, but your pelvic floor plays an important role in fertility. In fact, pelvic floor physiotherapy for fertility is becoming more common than ever now that women are learning how a balanced pelvic floor can help their entire body be more aligned and thereby more fertile. Basically, the more aligned you are physically, the more space your baby has to fully and properly develop inside you.
And if you're suffering from pelvic pain caused by a condition that interferes with fertility such as endometriosis, interstitial cystitis or pelvic congestion syndrome, working with a pelvic floor physiotherapist might help give you relief and increase your chances of getting pregnant. In addition, your work together can help relieve you of other pelvic floor-related pain, including pain from intercourse.
