5 Ways to Get Rid of a Headache Naturally

2. Eat some dark chocolate—it's full of magnesium, which helps reduce inflammation and pain for many people. If this does work for you, try to find chocolate with at least 70% cacao as this is apparently healthier for you in general.

3. Drink some tea! Chamomile or peppermint tea are great for headaches because they contain anti-inflammatory herbs that help reduce pain and inflammation in the body, which can also help decrease headache symptoms. Talk to a naturopath for other tea options.

4. Get moving! Headaches are often a result of tension in your neck and shoulders, and so it makes sense that some exercise will help relieve them. Try yoga, walking, or stretching—anything that gets blood flowing through your body may help! And if you’re already exercising a lot, consider cutting down as excessive exercise can itself lead to headaches in some people.

5. Breathe deeply and slowly. This one is pretty obvious: when we're stressed out or anxious, our breathing tends to be shallow and fast. Deep breathing helps us relax by bringing more oxygen into our bodies and calming us down.
