Cosmetic AcupunctureIn the Chinese Medicine system, there is an emotion, sense organ, colour, and energetic tendency associated with every organ system. We use observation of all these aspects to determine if there is an organ system imbalance which underlies symptoms experienced on your treatment day. In the case of cosmetic (aka facial rejuvenation) acupuncture, we have the benefit of all these clues in addition to a map of the organs represented in the regions of the face, to inform our diagnosis and treatment.
During your cosmetic acupuncture treatment you will also receive a whole body treatment. We do this because the face is a reflection of what’s happening inside the body, and if what’s happening in the physical and emotional body is out of balance, your face will not show your peaceful, beautiful, attractive nature.
Since beauty truly is born from within, during every treatment we will also discuss your lifestyle including diet, sleep, facial routine, use of cosmetics, and the sources of stress which can impact your face and skin. Your consumption of clean clear water, ideally filtered to reduce all possible toxins, will be key in improving your health and how you appear to the world. The more room temperature or warm clean, clear water and the less everything else you drink, the better. Flavoring with fresh organic lemon or other fruit juice is a great way to start the day.
The process of cosmetic acupuncture treats the skin, muscles, tendons, blood flow and qi which serve to restore lustre, tone, and the brilliance of the skin and face. Our process includes assessment of the critical areas of the face, a facial massage, facial cupping, jade or rose quartz Gua Sha smoothing or rolling, needling for muscle stimulation, and needling to stimulate collagen reformation, blood flow and lymphatic healing to your desired focus area.
